Shafaq News / Iran announced on Saturday, that it will soon release the American scientist, Si Wang, and that Washington will release the Iranian scientist that it had previously arrested, Masoud Soleimani.
"I am pleased that Professor Masoud Soleimani and Mr. Siwang will soon return to their families," Iranian Foreign Minister ,Mohammad Javad Zarif tweeted.
Zarif expressed "great thanks to everyone who participated in this issue, especially the government of Switzerland," whose embassy in Iran represents the interests of the United States.
Iran arrested Si Wang, who holds a doctorate in history in 2016 on suspicion of espionage activities on the country's territory, while the states detained the biological scientist, Masoud Soleimani in 2018 on charges of trying to transport chemicals in violation of the law.
Iran has repeatedly stressed its willingness to negotiate with the United States on the issue of exchanging detainees, amid continuing great tension in relations between the two countries.
