Shafaq News / A security official in Kirkuk said on Tuesday that the leadership of the advanced headquarters in Kirkuk prevented raising Kurdistan flag in the disputed governorate between Erbil and Baghdad, where the Kurds celebrate the national Flag Day.
The source told Shafaq News, that the leadership prevented today raising the flag of Kurdistan at the University of Kirkuk, as well as in schools and mixed places of nationalities in the province to prevent problems.
The source added that the Kurdish schools and areas with a majority of that nationality witnessed raising Kurdistan flag and the celebration of this occasion normally.
The occasion to revive Kurdistan Flag Day after the events 16 October 2017 witnessed tensions between the Kurds and the rest of the other nationalities on the background of raising the flag in some places, including the University of Kirkuk.
