Shafaq News / The Minister of Health of Kurdistan Region, Saman Al-Barzanji considered on Tuesday the decision to impose the curfew as a major factor in curbing the outbreak of Corona virus.
"Today we had another meeting with the Chinese delegation and are happy that the Chinese medical team made a good evaluation of the precautionary measures taken by the region's government," Barzanji said in a joint press conference held with the Chinese consul general in the region, adding that "these measures were a reason not to record significant rates with corona infection. "
He added, "We will take into consideration all the observations of the Chinese delegation that were mentioned in a report submitted to the Ministry of Health," stressing that " citizens stay at homes is the most important measure taken worldwide."
Al-Barzanji added by saying, "Their report includes many details about the precautionary measures, how to fight the virus, conduct tests and everything related to this virus."
He pointed out that among the 160 cases of corona infection recorded by Kurdistan Region, 97 of them were due to contact.
Regarding the extension of the curfew, the minister said, " the Ministry of Health consider the curfew one of the main reasons not to spread the virus, as well as quarantine the infected and conduct a survey around the areas where the virus is found."
He noted that "the Ministry of Health believes that the curfew is important and is the main reason for preventing the spread of the virus and is in the public interest."
