Shafaq News / The local government of Erbil governorate announced on Thursday tightening the ban and preventive measures taken to reduce the outbreak of Corona virus in its administrative borders with the rest of the provinces and Iraq, and international land border ports.
The head of the local government, Firsat Sofi said in a press conference held during his meeting with a group of merchants in the province that "the trade exchanges designated by the province are not at the required level, but they are also not bad."
"We will tighten the procedures within the administrative borders of the province with the rest of the provinces of the region and Iraq, as well as the international land border crossings, as we are now within the framework of limiting the spread of the virus," he added.
"So far the conditions are good in the province and every day medical teams conduct tests for dozens of suspected cases of corona virus and the results are sound," Sofi said, stressing that this is a positive sign.
He added by saying, "We are not with stopping the commercial movement, but with the introduction of a mechanism to maintain safety in the commercial exchanges and border crossings," stressing that “ trade is important, but the safety of citizens is more important.”.
