Shafaq News / Halabja health directorate granted a deadline on Wednesday to 60 people who recently entered the governorate from the Iraqi border crossings and did not undergo laboratory tests or quarantine to make sure they did not carry Corona virus.
The directorate has given 24 hours for these persons to subject themselves to laboratory tests, otherwise legal measures will be taken against them.
The Ministry of Interior of Kurdistan Regional Government announced on Tuesday that the residents of the region have a deadline until mid of current month to return before the border closes for two weeks.
The Ministry of Interior said in a statement, "The last date for the return of the citizens of Kurdistan Region from the Islamic Republic of Iran to the territory of the region is 3/15/2020."
It added that "on 16/3/2020 until 1/4/2020 they will not be allowed to return while taking into consideration continuing the commercial movement in accordance with the instructions in force."
The regional authorities had decided last month to prohibit entry of Iranians to the territory of the region, but kept the borders open to the return of the population of the region and trade.
It is noteworthy that Kurdistan Region recorded 16 confirmed cases of the virus, one had died, a cleric in Sulaimaniyah and another who recovered completely and left the hospital, according to the latest statistics announced by the Minister of Health in the region Saman Al-Barzanji.
