Shafaq News / Kurdistan Region concluded a loan agreement with Japan on Monday regarding the completion of projects related to the service sector at a cost of up to two billion dollars.
Sasan Awni, Minister of Municipalities in Kurdistan Region said in a press conference to announce the agreement that the ministry has concluded an agreement with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency "JICA" in the field of the service sector in the region.
He explained that the contract is within the framework of the Japanese loan to Iraq, noting that one of the terms of the loan relates to the major Erbil sewage project, which will be completed in four stages.
Awni added that the cost of the loan amounted to nearly two billion dollars and in the stages of the first stage of it at a cost of 300 million dollars.
After the conference, the Director General of Water and Sewage in Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism in Kurdistan Regional Government ,Masoud Karsh signed with Koji Mizno, coordinator and advisor to Japanese companies in Iraq, the loan agreement under the auspices of the Minister of Municipalities in the region, and the governor of Erbil ,Firsat Sophie.
