Shafaq News / On the occasion of the sixty-seventh anniversary of the founding of Kurdistan Women's Union, the President of Kurdistan Democratic Party, Masoud Barzani sent a congratulatory message to the women of Kurdistan, in which he affirmed that he is fully convinced that Kurdistan Women’s Union will continue to maintain its historical level and perform its active role and blessed duties.

"On the occasion of the sixty-seventh anniversary of founding of Kurdistan Women’s Union, we send our heartfelt congratulations to the secretary, members of the secretarial office and members of the Supreme Council of Kurdistan Women 's Union, and we wish them continued success," Barzani said.

In his message, Barzani added, “The Organization of Kurdistan Women’s Union, throughout its long life and in all stages, has an honorable and proud history, having fought in the way of defending the rights of women on one hand, and leading national positions on the other hand.”

He stressed, "We are convinced that Kurdistan Women’s Union will continue in the current and future stage in preserving its historical level and in performing its active role and blessed duties." He indicated that "from our side we will support, as much as possible and without any default, Kurdistan Women Union, and the active participation of women in society.”

In turn, the President of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani said in a statement on this occasion, "All crises and wars distort societies, delay steps and lead to violence, and women are the main victims of these situations, so today we fulfill this urgent and important duty, we stress the continuation and coordination of the presidency Kurdistan region with the executive authority, civil society, clergy, United Nations agencies and local and international organizations.
