Shafaq News / The negotiating delegation of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) continued its meetings for the second consecutive day with the federal government in Baghdad to resolve the differences and outstanding issues between the two sides.
“The two sides will hold a new round of meetings in the near future endorse those proposals and visions that have emerged on the topics that were discussed, related to dealing with the budget issue, salaries and oil,” Samir Hawrami, spokesman for the head of the delegation, Deputy Prime Minister of the region, Qubad Talaban told Shafaq News.
KRG delegation held yesterday, a meeting with officials in the Iraqi government led by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil ,Thamer Al-Ghadban.
On Tuesday, a high-ranking KRG delegation arrived the capital Baghdad, under the direction of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, at the request of the caretaker Prime Minister, Adel Abdul-Mahdi.
The delegation’s visit comes after the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers cut off funding for the salaries of employees and workers in the public sector of Kurdistan Region.
The KRG delegation visited on 19/4/2020 the federal capital Baghdad and held a series of negotiations on Kurdistan's share of the budget and the export of oil and gas in addition to the formation of the new Iraqi government headed by Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.
