Shafaq News/ The first delegation of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) started its meetings in the capital Baghdad with the President, Barham Salih.
The delegation, headed by Masrur Barzani, consists of Deputy Prime Minister, Qubad Talabani, Minister of Interior Affairs, Reber Ahmad, Minister of Finance and Economy, Awat Sheikh Janab, Minister of Justice, Farst Ahmed, Minister of Peshmerga Affairs, Shorsh Ismail and Head of the Provincial Presidency, Fawzi Hariri.
After the meeting with the Iraqi president, the delegation is scheduled to meet with Iraqi Prime Minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi and Speaker of Parliament , Mohammed al-Halboussi.
"The visit is aimed at showing good faith in the positive atmosphere resulting from improved relations between Erbil and Baghdad," a Kurdish informed source said.
The source added that "KRG is subjected to a media attack by many Iraqi political forces and parties, but it will not respond to those campaigns, but want good intentions, this is confirmed by what Masrur Barzani has said in his first speech after taking the oath as head of Kurdistan Regional Government."
Barzani said in his speech to parliament after taking the oath that his government would put at the top of its priorities, stable and well-established relations with Baghdad.
This is Barzani's first visit to Baghdad that comes less than a week after he assumed his duties officially on the 10th of current July.
