Shafaq News / The governor of Erbil announced the end of the quarantine of hundreds of people after confirming that they were not infected with Corona virus, as the regional capital confirmed two cases so far.
Firsat Sofi said in a press conference, "We have worked over the past days to implement all government instructions to contain Corona virus, besides that a high committee has been formed and it is meeting daily to determine the issue of the virus and evaluate the measures to contain it."
"During the past few days, we have implemented a number of exceptional measures, and we thank the people for cooperation in implementing them. Our decisions are dependent on the commitment of the people, and we apologize to them for some measures that cause some harm to their interests."
Sofi explained, "From 2/20 till today, 1351 people have been quarantined in the borders of the province, 95% entered through Haj Omran border crossing with Iran, where they arrived for business or a visit, while the rest entered through international airports, al- Munthriya port and others in illegal way ".
He added, "Today, 957 people will be discharged from the quarantine after confirming that they were not infected."
The governor of Erbil warned of the danger of not abiding by the instructions of the quarantine, especially those entering through - smuggling - and stressed the necessity of submitting them to the quarantine for their own safety and the safety of the rest of the people.
The Ministry of Health in Kurdistan Regional Government announced, yesterday, recording the second confirmed infection with Corona virus in Erbil Governorate.
This is the second case of the virus and the tenth in Kurdistan Region, 8 of which are in Sulaimaniyah.
This brings the number of casualties across Iraq to 57, of which 4 have died so far, two in Baghdad and one each in Sulaimaniyah and Karbala.
The infections are distributed as follows: 26 in Baghdad, 8 in Sulaymaniyah, 7 in Kirkuk, 5 in Najaf, 3 in Wasit, 2 in Diyala, 2 in Karbala, 2 in Erbil, 1 in Maysan, 1 in Babil.
