Shafaq News / Sulaimaniyah International Airport administration has warned citizens not to deal with foreign travel and tourism companies promoting the resumption of flights to and from the airport.
The airport's director general, Taher Abdullah denied the rumors of the return of flights resumption to and from Sulaimaniyah airport and that no new instructions were issued in this regard.
"A group of foreign companies that have branches in Kurdistan Region are selling travel tickets with high prices for those people stuck in Europe and other countries wishing to return to the region," adding, "I call citizens to avoid dealing with these companies ,” Taher said in a press statement today.
"Until now, no instructions have been issued to resume flights, and that the Sulaymaniyah airport wishes to re-operate the flights, but on condition that the prices of travel tickets would be appropriate with the financial ability of citizens and that they are under the control of Kurdistan Regional Government,” he added.
The administration of Sulaymaniyah International Airport announced last April that it had received a notice from the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority to extend the suspension of flights until May 22.
