Shafaq News / The Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Masrour Barzani met on Saturday, with a delegation from the Parliamentary Group of the German Social Democratic Party, which consisted of Neel Schmid, Carsten Schneider and Fichtz Vicentroe, on the sidelines of the work of the second day of the Munich Security Conference.
The meeting discussed the current situation in Iraq and the region in general, and ways to enhance relations between Kurdistan Region and Germany.
The German parliamentary delegation pointed to the important role of Kurdistan Region as a factor for stability in the region, and the delegation also stressed the need to continue training and assistance of Peshmerga by Germany.
The Prime Minister of KRG thanked Germany for its assistance to Kurdistan Region, especially Peshmerga forces and reviewed during the meeting the government's work program that aims to diversify the sources of the economy and open the doors of investment according to the requirements of the need in Kurdistan Region.
The meeting comes among a series of meetings that the Prime Minister holds with senior international officials participating in Munich Conference for the period from 14-16 of current February.
