The Parliament Speaker , Osama al-Nujaifi has suspended the session after the lack of the quorum required for the members present as a result of the Kurdish MPs boycott for the session who oppose the draft budget as approved by the Council of Ministers.
Kurds object to a clause within the draft budget included obliging Kurdistan to export 400 thousand barrels of oil per day from fields in the region through the Iraqi export company " Sumo " Otherwise, Baghdad would deduct funds from the share of Kurdistan in the budget , amounting to 17 percent .
The MP of State of law coalition, Ihsan al-Awadi told “Shafaq News" that the Kurdish MPs boycotted the session today as a result of the inclusion of the discussion of the draft budget on the agenda”.
He added that the required quorum for the number of members present was not complete prompting the parliament speaker to suspend the session to next Saturday .
