, calling on Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) to continue its efforts in maintaining the integrity of the electoral process in counting votes.

“We have fulfilled our promise to you to hold parliamentary elections on schedule smoothly and high atmosphere of competitive neutrality and government-supplied high professionalism ,”Maliki said in a statement reported for " Shafaq News “.

He added that " terrorists could not influence the election, as we faced difficulties , rumors and lies promoted by skeptics who have tried to thwart the electoral process or postpone it as the wish of some forces , indicating that our armed forces and the security forces completed their duty to protect and secure the electoral process .

Maliki expressed hope that " results of the elections would contribute in facilitating the process of forming a government as soon as the resumption of the reconstruction and construction process."

Maliki thanked IHEC that announced in a press conference the stages of the counting process and participation rates , calling IHEC to continue their efforts in maintaining the integrity of the elections .

UNAMI in Iraq praised on Wednesday, the conduct of the Iraqi parliamentary elections and local councils in Kurdistan region and said that it took place in a transparent manner away from breaches .
