The Middle East Airlines , owned by Lebanon's central bank said in a statement that one of its aircraft was prevented from landing at Baghdad airport because of the son of the Iraqi Transport Minister , Hadi al-Ameri was late and couldn’t catch up on boarding.
“The Ministry is waiting for the outcome of the Inquiry Commission to look for the reasons of the case,” The advisor to the Minister of Transport , Karim Nouri said in an interview with " Shafaq News “.
He noted that " the issue is usual and occur in all airports in the world ."
“What happened is not that terrible and the Civil Aviation Authority had their opinion to delay the aircraft to another time and have already returned after one hour ."
Nouri added , " no matter how many reasons were behind the return of the plane , but media has dramatized the issue to destroy some official’s reputation before the political elections ," pointing that “ the Iraqis were subjected to " insults " at Lebanon airports and the world but media didn’t talk about this matter .
Prime Minister , Nuri al-Maliki ordered last Thursday to expel those who were responsible for not allowing the plane to land at Baghdadairport.
