Shafaq News / The Iraqi Foreign Ministry sent on Tuesday, a complaint with two identical letters to the United Nations and the Security Council regarding the American shelling on the Iraqi forces.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a complaint with two identical letters to the United Nations and the Security Council regarding the American shelling on the Iraqi forces," Foreign Ministry spokesperson , Ahmed al-Sahaf said in a statement reported to Shafaq News.
The journalist added, "The State Department described the American shelling in this complaint as a hostile act, and a flagrant violation of the conditions for the presence of U.S. forces in Iraq."
The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs directed Friday (13 _ 3-2020), summoning the American and British ambassadors in Baghdad, after an American shelling that targeted Iraqi security and military sites and those of armed factions, in response to the killing of two American and British soldiers by shelling a camp north of Baghdad.
At dawn on Friday, the Joint Operations Command announced that the United States launched an aerial bombardment of 5 headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces , the army and police in the province of Babel as well as Karbala International Airport which is under construction, killing 3 soldiers, two policemen and a civilian.
