Shafaq News/ The security media cell announced that killing ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi came after accurate information from the Iraqi National Intelligence Service.
A statement by the cell said, "After a continuous follow-up and the formation of a specialized team for a whole year, the Iraqi National Intelligence Service was able, according to accurate information, to identify the hideout where the head of ISIS terrorist, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and those with him are in the Syrian province of Idlib, then an American force in coordination with the Iraqi National Intelligence Service conducted a military operation led to killing the terrorist ,Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and those with him. This is a new victory added to the victories achieved by our security forces."
U.S. President, Donald Trump announced on Sunday the death of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in an operation carried out by U.S. Special Forces targeting his place in Barisha village in rural Syria's Idlib province.
Al-Baghdadi has been hiding in recent years when his Islamic State began to lose the positions he held and declared his succession in Iraq and Syria, until his last control in Syria was lost after the Battle of Baguz in March 2019.
Baghdadi has long been on the United States' most wanted list, which has set aside $ 25 million for information leading to his arrest.
