Shafaq News / The head of Basra Operations, Staff Lt. Gen. Qassim Jasim Nazzal directed on Wednesday , a general security alert in the province, after the increase of Coronavirus infections.
The leader called in a statement today to "adhere to the rules of the curfew and assume human, social and moral responsibility in this aspect, especially religious scholars and preachers, who had a great role during the past period in urging people to stay home."
"The new infections that were registered by Basra Health Department require us to take strict security measures and a wide security spread,” He added.
A medical source revealed earlier that the health survey detachments in Basra Governorate were able to record more than 40 new infections, mostly from contact with previous patients.
This comes a day after 39 infections were recorded in al-Hartha area, north of the governorate, most of them people who took part in a funeral council.
