Chalabi said during a televised interview with al-Mayadeen Channel close to Hezbollah Lebanese movement , briefed by "Shafaq News", that “ the security situation in Iraq is not stable , that there is a war in the country , and the economic and financial situation is not good , declaring that he would nominate the President of Kurdistan Region , Massoud Barzani to be the president of Iraq .
Chalabi supported the existence of a majority government with a strong opposition , expressing his opposition to the formation of a coalition government , citing the prospect of covering up cases of corruption that may occur in the event of the formation of such a government.
He stressed that his party enters the next elections in alliance with the Islamic Supreme Council led by Ammar al-Hakim within Mwaten, " citizen" bloc, referring to the alliance 's quest to expand to include other communities of the Iraqi people .
