Shafaq News / Basra Governorate Police Command announced, on Monday, the closure of the headquarters of the "Islamic Thaar Al-Allah" party in the province, and arresting those in it after its protection shot demonstrators, injuring a number of them.
“A number of demonstrators attacked the building of the Islamic Thaar Al-Allah Party in Basra,” A statement to Basra police media, reported to Shafaq News.
“A police force from Basra Governorate immediately headed to the party’s headquarters and arrested those in it after gunfire was fired during the attack resulting in the injury of a number of demonstrators to verify the circumstances of the shooting and various weapons and ammunition were seized." .
A security source reported that two protestors were injured in Basra after clashes with members of the party protection.
"Two protesters were injured after clashes with the protections of the headquarters of Thaar Allah party, which is headed by Yusuf al-Musawi as some protesters threw Molotov cocktails on it, which caused shooting by the party headquarters guards, coinciding a peaceful demonstration outside Basra government,” The source told Shafaq News.
