Shafaq News / A leader in the Iraqi Forces Alliance led by Speaker of Parliament Muhammad Al-Halbousi said on Thursday that his coalition took a definitive stance on passing the government of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi.
"We in the Iraqi Forces Alliance are rejecting Mohammed Allawi firmly and will not vote for him," MP Falah Zaidan told Shafaq News.
Zaidan considered that Allawi's government would not pass in parliament, calling on the Shiite blocs to nominate a new "non-controversial" prime minister.
In turn, an informed source told Shafaq News, " Al-Fateh Alliance is holding a meeting now in Parliament headed by Abu Maryam Al-Ansari (Abdul Karim Younis Ailan, Vice President of Badr Hadi Al-Amri Organization), to take a final position on the voting session on Allawi’s government."
The urgent parliament session to give confidence to Allawi’s government has not yet taken place due to disagreements over the government formation.
Allawi and his formation is facing protests from prominent Kurdish and Sunni political forces, as well as the popular movement, which demands an independent personality far from subordination to parties and abroad countries.
