Shafaq News /MP Burhan al-Maamouri, addressed on Saturday a parliamentary question to The Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority on a number of issues, one of is the fact that Iraq lost two billion dollars annually due to the lack of control over foreign transport funds.
Al-Maamouri said in a statement received by Shafaq News agency, that “based on the constitutional authority, an official letter has been sent to inquire about the measures taken on a number of issues”.
He added that the letter included inquiring about the procedures of the Civil Aviation Authority in the fact that it lost more than two billion dollars annually, calling for clarification of the reasons”.
Al-Maamouri explained that the parliamentary question came to inquire about the reasons for not lifting the European embargo imposed on Iraqi Airways for many safety issues that are the responsibility of the Civil Aviation Authority.
the deputy pointed out the necessity of indicating the reasons for the conversion of Rafha line to Saudi Arabia and the second line was transferred to Kuwait, and these lines usually generate a great financial resources.
