Hundreds of tons of crops were damaged due to a wave of floods and rains that swept the country recently that has a negative impact on the production.

“The marketed quantities of wheat crop reached up to 607 892 thousand tons, while barley crop amounted quantities of 144 679 tons,” The Trade Department said in a statement received by “Shafaq News”.

The senior marketing Committee held a discussion session on wheat and barley affected crops issue, as the receipt mechanism was identified through a joint committee between the ministries of trade and agriculture.

The statement added that through the adopted mechanism, crops were received in isolated places as grain grades are evaluated in accordance with the applicable methods with the exception of humidity to determine their price.
